VMware on AWS, as Team Lead
As Team Lead, took a VMware environment onto AWS VMC (VCF) — a 3-node cluster built on NSX and VSAN.
Infrastructure as Code
Ansible for configuration, Terraform for infrastructure — the usual IaC split, done properly.
Azure AD Implementation
Implemented and supported Azure AD end to end, ADFS decommission and Azure AD Connect included.
Windows Server Modernisation
Modernised entire Windows Server estates — AD, DNS, DHCP, File Servers, SQL — decommissioning the old as the new went in.
Multi-Site AD Administration
Ran Active Directory across multiple sites while legacy data centres got decommissioned and migrated out from under it.
VMware Platform Upgrades
Upgraded and redesigned VMware platforms at every version level, with Ansible doing the configuration work.
Security Hardening
Found and killed off legacy protocols — SMBv1, NTLMv1, old TLS — and took Domain Admin accounts from hundreds down to four.
Storage & Disaster Recovery
Consolidated storage and built out disaster recovery.
ERP Administration
Kept a SAGE X3 ERP system running.
